The international scope of thismovement was demonstrated at the 2004 ASA-NCOA Conference in San Francisco, where Tokyo-based consultant Hiro Murata presented a session titled "Building the Bridge Road Ahead: Sharing Lessons on Aging Between the United States and Japan" Murata described college-linked older adult communities currently under consideration in Japan.
